Energy Management Solutions for your home:

Assessment

AssessmentPerform of an assessment of your home. We test your combustible appliance zone (CAZ) and the health, safety and efficiency of your general house appliances. Blower tests show us exactly where heat is escaping your home and worst case fire decompression scenarios. We check for gas and CO2 leaks. We assess what type of insulation and sealant you currently have. We ask you detailed questions about your personal comfort in each zone of your home.

Recommendations

RecommendationsEMS makes recommendations for energy improvements. The more efficient your home is the less you pay in energy bills and the more comfortable you are. Could you use joist sealant? Would replacing incandescent bulbs with CFLs provide you the light you desire at a lower cost? In most cases basic finishing touches on weatherization can save home owners more than 40% annually. All our tests are scientific and accurate and we are BPI certified.

Estimate

EstimateNo matter if you decide to simply fix a few inefficiency's using conservation methods (insulation, windows, sealant, CFLs) or decide to take yourself off the power grid completely using generation methods (solar, geo-thermal) EMS can give you clear and complete estimates including what government grants and tax incentives are available to you. We are a team of engineers, architects, master electricians and everything else you need to take you from estimate to finished job.

What to Expect from Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®

How the Program Works

EMS is a New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's (NYSERDA) Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program independent home improvement contractor that is accredited by the Building Performance Institute (BPI). BPI is a national resource for building science technology that sets standards for assessing and improving the energy performance, as well as the health and safety of homes. EMS Home Performance Auditors are trained in taking a ‘whole-house’ approach when testing your home and identifying energy efficiency improvements. From the initial visit to your home, to installation of energy efficiency work through to project completion, EMS will inform you with what you can expect, your participation as a client, and how to get additional information regarding energy conservation like Solar and wind.

Financing

You may be eligible for federal or state tax incentives by installing energy efficient equipment and measures. EMS is a participating Building Performance Institute Accredited Home Performance Contractor, which qualifies our clients for financing through any of the options listed below. Financing options cannot be combined with the Homeowner Financing Incentive.
